  • TCC is pleased to promote the Silent Auction at Mid Deeside Church on 28th May 2022 benefitting Ukrainian Refugees and Charlie House

  • The Returning Officer has announced the results of the election to Torphins Community Council.  Ten members have been elected, giving the Council a total of eleven members.

  • AGM rescheduled to 26th May 2022 at 7:30 pm at Learney Hall

  • TORCH, Torphins Community Help, is the new community resilience sub-group of TCC formed in December 2021 in the wake of Storm Arwen. The large group of community volunteers are managed by a committee of seven who are reviewing the Torphins Community Resilience Plan, and planning the funding and procurement of a range of new emergency equipment.  TORCH is the Torphins Community Resilience Group recognised by Aberdeenshire Council; working to support the community in time of emergency by supplementing the emergency services until they arrive, and supporting community resilience efforts.  News can be found on the TORCH village notice board,  on Facebook @torch.torphins and on this website.

  • Aberdeenshire announced the appointment of a Digital Engagement Team which has been created to support North-East residents, businesses and communities obtain better broadband. 

The team of three - funded by the Aberdeen City Region Deal - is available to provide advice, guidance and support to utilise various programmes to obtain superfast broadband (30Mbps).  It will also play a pivotal role in helping residents and businesses access £400 Interim Vouchers, as part of R100, to obtain a temporary, superfast broadband solution while they wait for their full-fibre installation.

  • The Platinum Jubilee Weekend on 2nd to 5th June 2022 is being celebrated by many communities and groups.  If you wish to get in touch with other groups with ideas or plans then TCC will be pleased to connect you if we can.  You can find information here from the Aberdeenshire Queens Platinum Jubilee Project Coordinator.
